That virtually never happened with this show, which is par for the course for HBO's superior series. I'm also very sensitive to bad acting! If I am reminded that I'm watching something that is not real, I turn it off or change the channel.

I'm a better person because of watching this program, and how many TV shows can you say that about? There is really very little I can say that will do justice to how great this series is.but one more thing.the acting is TERRIFIC. Some things can just be kept personal! Sometimes it's appropriate to look inward and share a moment with yourself instead of constantly insisting on talking about your experiences. This is one of those shows that you want to share with someone in your life who will appreciate it, but I kept reminding myself to just focus on making myself remember it instead.
A simple lesson we should ALL learn on a regular basis. But in general, an appreciation for life is the result of each episode, as well as a reminder that death could be around the bend so you better do good and treat people well.
I never considered turning off the show, and I'm somewhat sensitive to gore. At times there are gruesome scenes of mutilated bodies, perhaps walking and talking in people's imaginations, but there seems to be a line that isn't crossed. The world of the Fishers is one that few have ever had a glimpse of (until now) and it revolves around death. But if you don't have time in your life to commit to five seasons of episodes, don't even start, because you will be hooked. If you're looking for depth and honesty, start here.
